FRESH START® STRUCTURE

Principals:  The national Fresh Start program is a collaborative effort of three principal agencies in The Episcopal Church: the Mission Leadership Center of the Episcopal Church Center, including the Office for Transition Ministry; the Episcopal Church Foundation; and CREDO Institute, Inc. Each “principal” shares in funding and general oversight of the program.

Lead Agency Staff:  Since January 1, 2007 CREDO Institute, Inc. has been the lead agency. This institute oversees the day-to-day national Fresh Start program on behalf of all the principal organizations. There are three individuals on the CREDO staff who have direct responsibility for Fresh Start issues in addition to their other work, though additional CREDO staff members may assist from time to time.

Coordinators:  Fresh Start has two part-time ministry area coordinators who report to the lead agency. The Coordinator of Facilitators is responsible for national-level training of diocesan facilitators. The Coordinator of Curriculum oversees all curriculum issues, including rewriting and updating as necessary. Both individuals have responsibility to ensure the lines of communication and support flow in both directions – national to diocesan and diocesan to national - by working with the program coordinators in each diocese.

Faculty:  Led by the Coordinator of Facilitators, the Fresh Start faculty members develop and conduct two facilitator training events each year and assist with the biennial Gathering of all Fresh Start facilitators. A list of current faculty members can be found here:  Faculty Members.

Curriculum Development Team:  Led by the Coordinator of Curriculum, the Fresh Start Curriculum Development Team members oversee and assist in the development and maintenance of all Fresh Start curricula.  A list of current team members can be found here:  Curriculum Development Team
