Diocesan Facilitator Training Conference for 2006

March 28-31, 2006 – Canton, Mississippi  The Duncan M. Gray Center
(Episcopal Camp and Conference Center)

October 3-6, 2006 – Greenfield, New Hampshire  Barbara C. Harris Conference Center

FRESH START offers two Diocesan Facilitator Training Conferences each year. The conference runs Tuesday afternoon through Friday noon. At the conference, diocesan facilitators experience a number of FRESH START modules, gain an understanding of the philosophy of the FRESH START program, create an initial implementation plan for the unique needs of their diocese and practice leading modules for their fellow participants.

Everything needed to launch and maintain FRESH START, except an LCD projector should you choose to use one, is provided at the training.

We encourage dioceses to send a team of two or more facilitators to be trained. Some of the benefits of a team are:

  • The program is not the ministry of just one person. There is continuity even if a facilitator leaves.
  • The program benefits from the collaborative energy of the facilitation team.
  • More diocesan resources are pulled into the trusting relationships established in FRESH START.
  • A diverse team brings a combination of gifts to the program. It is especially important for a team to represent the ethnic diversity of the diocese. It can be very valuable to include lay leaders on the facilitation team.

The registration fee is $1000/person. The registration fee covers room and board, all training materials and ground transportation to and from the nearest airport.
